Winners past and present talk on Penistone FM
Contestants from this year's and previous Junior Star Singer Songwriter contests came together in London recently to record our Christmas song 'The Sounds of Christmas'.
Winners past and present came together to talk about their experiences of winning the Junior Star Singer Songwriter competition at Penistone FM recently. Based in Penistone, South Yorkshire, the station welcomed previous winner from 2016, Kasey Wray, and new winner Max Hudson who won in the Best Songwriting category.
Manager and host of the station, Steve Dobson, interviewed the pair about their experiences of winning the competition and their aspirations for the future. Look out for Kasey Wray and Max Hudson performing on the JSS tour later this year as the tour takes to the road again to give a chance for young singers and songwriters to get exposure across the country.
Penistone FM officially launched on Saturday 6th June 2009. Over 22,000 people live in the target area, choosing to listen to Penistone FM delivering local news, information and supporting local community and voluntary groups in the promotion of their work.
Junior Star Singer was on Penistone FM last year and will be again for 2018.
